The Anker Brewery is situated in the historic town of Nördlingen, with its 20,000 inhabitants, in the Bavarian Ries. The Ries is a geological formation in the Swabian Alb, formed by the impact of a massive meteor 15 million years ago.
Nördlingen has a fantastic stock of listed houses. The old town is encircled by a medieval, walkable town wall (the only fully preserved one in Germany) and five town gates. In the centre of town is St. Georg’s Church with its 89.9 metre high tower "Daniel".
If you take the 365 steps to the tower up to the still-inhabited tower room, you will be rewarded by a marvellous view of the old town and surrounding areas. It really is always worth a visit. For more information visit http://www.noerdlingen.de
A 30-minute walk round the town wall will take you past the Anker Brewery, between the Baldinger and Berger gates.

The eye-catching painted façade immediately marks it out as a brewery.
